WOW ! ENGINE WORE SLAP OUT
Thank god for those guys who opened their hearts and helped me in all my breakdowns and parts that I needed. Dale from Old Farts Garage Rapid City SD. Jerry from IOWA . Lee Hanks Ga. Bob From Tenn. and Jerry from Ky. and all those who have helped in the connection to the parts. Here is the story. The motor was burning oil for a while and then the piston blew a hole, that was last week and now the fly wheel ring gear tore up and I couldn't start the trike. So out comes the engine again, thanks to Dales help and the parts he had the engine was fixed and back in two hours. The engines crank bearing is wore slap out and it's life is limited. Hope I can make it back to Ga. after the Sturgis Bike Rally. The donkeys was just before the new problem. Camped out at Custer State Park Last night.

IT'S A BIG BREAK DOWN
Just when you think everything is going great the big one slams you. Well thats life. So now you have to re adjust your every thing. I just got in South Dakota where the hills started and I noticed the loss of power. I kept going anyways. What else can you do?. Soon I was only going 35 miles per hour and had to stop, the engine was hotter than hot. Had to let it cool for an hour. After a while I got going again. Smoke was blowing every where and I knew what it was. It was bad but the only way to know how bad was to take the motor apart. Got off the next exit and immeadly shut it off. Got permission to take out the engine out on this guys property, and that's what I did. I had a burnt piston. Where can I find a piston for a 38 year old engine I asked myself. Got lucky and found an older guy named Jerry ( THANKS JERRY) who had everything I needed and brought the parts to me. I gladly paid him. At 7 am I took out the engine and took it app art and put the new piston in and the engine was in the car running that night at 9 pm. The next morning I was on the highway looking for Walmart to get food and a place to sleep that night. I say to you be positive in all you do. Can't means won't and the adventure won't happen.
Don't say it (can't)
Missouri Valley Ragbrai bicycle every where
I was cruising north on highway 29 in Iowa. I needed air in my rear tire so got off the next exit I came to . Filled the tire and I was about to leave when this guy asked me if I was here for the Ragbrai. I said what is a Ragbrai. He said over 18000 bicyclist will be showing up that weekend and there would be a big party. The lights went on in my head. This sounds like fun. It is a 7 day ride across Iowa from the Missouri River to the Mississippi River. All this is happening in Missouri Valley a unique town. It's known as the train town. I never heard so many train horns at one time. A train went by every 15 minutes and blew its horn and the earth shook. I set up a tent at the fair grounds. I rarely use a tent but I was 3 days early and this was a good chance to stretch out while sleeping . No one was in the park then in just a few days there was standing room only. People drove in with their huge motor homes, buses and even on a bicycle from a 1000 miles away. This well organized touring event stopped at at least 5 towns and there was a party at every town. It was not a race, it was just a fun ride with people from all over the world and all ages. Timings everything, so just slow down and let it happen.
Another WOW notch in my belt.

Every day I never know what's next ?
The The adventure is today on highway 80 heading west. People tell me about the unique places to see. This rock is on a lonely road on route 25 off interstate 80 Iowa. Got a new problem with the engine, it's burning oil in #3 piston. Might be a burnt valve. That means the engine has to come out. Holding still in the town of Missouri valley Iowa till next week. Then I will cross the line into Nebraska to seek help and find parts. This is part of the journey. Let's be real, I am riding on a 38 year old vehicle. That's right it is a 1970 VW bug customized. Met some American Indians from South Dakota and I was invited to the reservation , and I will go when I fix the engine. That's all for now as the library will be closing soon.
Be all you can be and let the adventure into your LIFE

Hwy 80 Worlds largest truck stop Jamboree
It was just a couple a days ago I didn't know where I would get my next smile. Heading west on interstate 80 when I looked to my right and saw a huge tent and Trucks parked every where. It was the worlds largest truck station that I heard of from a guy I met some time ago. My timing is great as they are holding a two day custom truck show jamboree. Off I went to see these great trucks. I parked in front of the main building and went inside. Wow was the first thing that I said because of all the cool chrome stuff in the building. Anything that was ever made for a truck was on display. Trick out your truck. I saw the big blast train horns that I always wanted on sale. Got to get em and put on my trike is the first thing that came to my mind. Oh well I went outside where a crowd was around the trike and the manager asked If I wanted to be in the show, OK I said and I followed him to my spot.
Guys from all over the country brought their trucks to this show. Boy I so Glad to be invited in . Thank you staff for the invite and the opportunity to be part of this great event. People you must stop at exit 284 interstate 80 Iowa and see this wonder. Next stop ?

Show them puppys at the Kentucky Bike Rally
As you know life is a schedule and fun always seems to come last. At this Harley Bike Rally people of all ages came on their motorcycles, trucks , cars and even their golf carts to participate in this annual event. It was their time to let it all out and the girls really made it happen and kept the guys cameras clicking. Everyone Had a great time expressing themselves without being criticized. I never saw so many beads given out at one time. There was no shortage of beer when girls want to have fun.
Thank you girls for a fun time and some great photos. Heading west to meet you all.

The 4h of July is now in the past and I am in the sweet town of Ottawa That hugs the Illinois River. The cobble stone roads and the paintings on the walls are just amazing. I am here to meet Jerry a VW mechanic. Having a problem with the clutch, looks like I will be taking out the engine tomorrow to fix the problem. It's not easy finding free wireless across the country but I found it a Dunkin Donuts today. The sun is setting and off to Walmart I go were I will be sleeping tonight. Thank you Walmart for being every where.
The Adventure rides on and another WOW day in the life of bluebeard.
Thank you to all the people who have helped me, without you it would be lonely and much harder.
